Brand building for Superfans
MISSION
Help brands find their fans
ROLE
Art Director
Fandom powers the internet and Wikia powered fandom. As the original home for fans, by fans, the network needed to position itself as a realized parent brand, worthy of ad dollars.
During an intense period of growth, I helped lead a global brand expansion with new identities, unique programs, product launches, and partnerships. Together, we transformed an organic internet phenomenon into an advertising business and media powerhouse.
Fan Identity
I expanded Wikia’s identity for a mobile-first generation. The new symbol respected the legacy of Wikitext brackets along with a playful nod to the culture of collaboration on Wikia.
Full-spectrum fandom
The new brand system included vibrant new colors, patterns, and icons to support growing category hubs across the network.
I lead a small team to design icons and a future-proof palette that supported Wikia’s content growth.
Programs and Partnerships
We teamed up with major entertainment and game studios to develop programs, custom products, and unique fan experiences. Tentpole releases, shopping seasons, and industry events were all fair game.
Brand Activations
From a fan-chartered train to Comic-Con, cosplay contests, live quiz shows, and fantasy food trucks, we appealed to fans’ every sense. Wikia was a delight at cons coast to coast.

Standalone Apps
Fandom is forever. As each community gained more engagement, we adapted each wiki into a dynamic standalone app. App icons framed icons of fandom in portals as part of the greater Wikia fan universe.
